Third in series of KeepWarm Inspire Events in Latvia concluded
The third in a series of on-line seminars about “Future challenges and opportunities for district heating” was organised on 17 June 2020 by KeepWarm project partner ZREA. It was attended by a total of 30 participants.
In the introduction of the webinar, ZREA's director Inga Kreicmann explained the EU “Horizon2020” programme KeepWarm project’s approach to the modernisation of district heating systems.
The president of the Latvian Association of Heating companies, Mrs. Ina Berzins-Veita, spoke about future challenges and opportunities for district heating.
Regarding the role of district heating in smart energy supply, information was provided by Mr. Gatis Bazbauers, professor of Riga Technical University.
Mr. Andris Vanags, Chairman of the Board of “Fortum Latvia”, Ltd. Talked about enabling decarbonisation with district heating and finally, Mr. Edgars Vigants, board member of “Ludza Bio-Energy” Ltd. discussed aspects of district heating survival.
