Series of webinars on challenges & opportunities for the modernisation of DHS in Latvia and beyond

In the framework of the KeepWarm project "Inspire Events", consortium partner ZREA would like to invite you to a series of webinars on the challenges and opportunities for the modernisation of district heating systems in Latvia and beyond. Due to the risk of Covid-19 spread, the initially planned seminar and field trip will take place remotely, in form of four short webinar sessions. The first event will take place on 02.06.2020 from 10:00h to 11:30h EEST and will showcase “Examples of modernising district heating systems (DHS) in Latvia”. It will be held in Latvian using the GoToWebinar platform. Don't hesitate to listen in if you are a heating company, municipality, financial institution, NGO, resident, house manager, technology supplier or any other interested individual.

The next three webinars scheduled are:

  • 10.06.2020, 10:00-11:50 EEST - National policy and legislation, cooperation between heating companies and national/municipal authorities, availability of the EU funds, investment opportunities – where the topics (e.g. amendments in Energy Laws, upcoming calls for the EU fund tenders, etc.) will be presented by invited representatives from the Ministry of Economy, ALTUM, BaltCap AJ POWER (in Latvian)
  • 17.06.2020, 10:00-11:30 EEST – Future challenges and opportunities for district heating – where topics such as the role of DHS in smart energy supply, aspects of DHS survival and future after modernization, etc. will be presented by invited representatives from Association of district heating companies of Latvia, Riga Technical university, “Ludzas Bio-Energy”, Ltd., etc. (in Latvian)
  • 30.06.2020, 15:00-17:00 EEST - Challenges and opportunities for district heating systems modernisation in Latvia (for project partners from Germany, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Croatia and Ukraine, twin DHS from Austria and other interested stakeholders) in English – where are planned such topics as on the current situation in the field of DHS in Latvia, future challenges and opportunities, on successful and ambitious examples of upgrading DHS and on DH climate benchmark. Invited representatives are from Association of district heating companies of Latvia, Riga Technical university “Fortum Jelgava” Ltd., “Salaspils Silums”, Ltd.
